4 Things You Can Do to Live Hopefully Today

It's Thursday.  Need a little reminder from Sunday?  We all do.  Remember, you can live hopefully by your faith in Jesus Christ.  No matter what is happening in your week, you can hope in him.

Don't forget these four things that you can do today to show your hope in Him.

  1.  Keep meeting the needs of others even when you have needs yourself.  This is Biblical generosity.  Our needs are being met so we keep meeting the needs of others.

2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. James 5:2-4

  2. Seek to trust God's timing and hold onto Him.  This is Biblical patience.  It's knowing that there are times when we need to be still and know that God is in control.

7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.  James 5:7-8

  3. Be real with God like He hears and acts.  This is Biblical prayer.  It's knowing that God works and acts according to our prayer and His plan.

13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. James 5:13-15

  4. Connect with people who are living the hope of Christ.  This is Biblical community.  It's knowing that we need others and others need us.

16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16
