Things I Wish I Said

Some days at Parkway are unforgettable.  Yesterday, was one of them.  What we witnessed in our services will forever be etched in my memory.  What happened?  Through baptism, God gave us a glimpse of what He has been doing in our church recently.  Church wide, we saw dozens of people go public with their faith in Christ.  During the 11:00 AM service, at Parkway Victoria, the line for baptism kept growing and growing.  Every time we thought we were nearing the end, it would grow again.  It was so powerful to see men, women, and families all giving God their YES to take their next step.  By the end of service, we were all blown away by what we saw and by what the Lord had done among us.  All credit, glory and honor to Him.

Now for some things that I wish I said...
  • When Jesus calls, He calls us because He wants to be with us.
  • Jesus' call doesn't happen only once in our lives.  It happens throughout our lives.
  • Jesus' call often increases in challenge and required commitment over time.
  • Jesus' call will stretch us and call us out of our comfort zone.
  • Jesus' call can help us see what we need to work on next in our relationship with God.
  • Jesus' call to the church to make disciples must be on the front burner for the church.
  • Baptism doesn't save us.  It shows others that we are saved.

Never forget:  It is always best to say yes to God!
