We Made it to Texas

After two 11 hour days in the car, we pulled into Houston this evening. I have a few observations from the road:

1. There was no traffic between VA and TX except for a little construction in Lake Charles.
2. Mississippi is boring to drive through but the roads were great.
3. I heard an ad for a dentist in Tennessee. The ad said to call if you have crowded or slightly crooked teeth. Isn't that everyone in Tennessee? :-)
4. It was sad to see fields full of FEMA trailers north of New Orleans. The only good news is that people didn't have to live in those conditions anymore.
5. The road between Beaumont and Houston was like a NASCAR race without the pit crews. If you weren't prepared to go at least 80 mph, you better stay on the feeder road.
6. Traveling without kids is a breeze. They flew to Houston with their gran.
7. Two days in the car with my "quality time" wife has Kristi's love tank full.

Thanks to everyone who prayed for our time in the car.

We are glad to have you and Kristi back home. The family has missed you and looked forward to having you here as our "fearless leader". It is exciting that you come here with more children than what you and Kristi left with. We are so blessed!

ALW -

Did you just use the words crack and Tennessee in the same sentence? That is just too easy...
