Leadership Network just published an article highlighting the results of a survey of over 1,900 staff members from growing churches throughout the US. Their questions all centered around what defines the best Christian workplaces. Want to know what came in dead last on the list of things that make up the best Christian workplaces? It's may be a surprise. It's fair pay. Turns out that mission matters more than money. You want to know what came out on the top of the list? What is it that motivates church staff members? Well, it's character and competence of the senior leadership team. To me its interesting that what people want most isn't what you can give them, but instead they want what you can model for them. They want senior leaders to show them what it means to honor God, serve the church, and love their families. Why did it take a survey to figure this out? Seems so simple.
