Our Multi-site Revolution

Recently, our church joined a growing movement of Churches across the world who are becoming one church with multiple locations. As with most everything we do with MBC and Frontline, when we see God's dream for the church, we chase it with everything we've got. To that end, it is our dream to impact ALL of secular Washington by starting 10 campuses over the next ten years.

Currently, we are in big time discovery and planning mode. We are actively looking for facilities. By the way, if you have an extra 100,000 sq ft building laying around in the DC area, let's hook up. We are also actively looking to learn from others who are doing this well.

We have been privileged to be a part of a Leadership Network Multi-site Community with some great churches like: LifeChurch, Fellowship, Seacoast, and North Point. These churches and their leaders are my heros. Their ability to reshape history one life at a time is amazing to me.

While these relationships are great and the newly published book on the multi-site movement looks solid, I would appreciate some real-time learning on this. So, let the ideas fly. What should we make sure that we are doing? What should we avoid at all costs?

Northland, A Church Distributed in Florida has been doing the simultaneous multi-site service thing for years now. Joel Hunter is working on a book this summer about the Distributed Church.
